Warrior Rig Technologies designs, manufactures and services high-spec rig components and pipe handling equipment that provide premier efficiency, innovation and serviceability.

Warrior is currently recruiting for an experienced production sandblaster/painter to join our manufacturing operations. This role will report to the Shop Manager.

Detailed Description

  • The ideal candidate brings a minimum of one to three years' experience from a heavy equipment/manufacturing environment with experience as a sandblaster/production painter.
  • Work within a production team and produce painted parts to meet project requirements. Paint components as per specifications, drawings, or work orders. Ensure proper preparation of components for painting process. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is vital.
  • Perform inspections on all painted/coated product.
  • Clean and prepare components for sandblasting; mask specific areas to be protected from abrasion.
  • Regulate pressure and composition for sandblasting; operate and maintain sandblasting equipment.
  • Experience using spray gun, set up, operation and maintenance. Surface preparation for sandblasting/painting/spraying of finished parts.
  • Ability to differentiate between colors using different paint mixing techniques with ratios.
  • Mix paint and primers according to specifications. Perform layout and masking as required.
  • Spray components uniformly with the proper amount of paint. Inspects all painted parts on a regular basis for runs, sags and unpainted areas.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools. Operate forklift to move materials.
  • Prepare various surfaces for preparation specifications ensuring proper quality control measures to ensure results. Attention to detail is required to adhere to Warrior quality standards.
  • Inspects final product while ensuring conformance to specifications.
  • Must be able to follow all safety procedures, environmental guidelines, company rules and regulations - ensure proper use of dust masks, respirators, gloves, eye protection and other required safety equipment.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance duties with the paint booth, prep area and paint equipment.
  • Must be able to pass respirator physical and fit tests and work with required PPE at all times.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks which include stooping, bending and squatting for extended periods of time, including the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in conjunction with computer system in relation to shop orders and timecard data entry.
  • Must be able to work independently and provide cross functional support at times to meet overall organizational goals and objectives.
  • Handle all various cleaning materials with care in adherence to OHSA, EPA and WHMIS standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and two years of related experience as a production sandblaster / painter in a manufacturing operation.
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization, skills (MS Office).
  • Good manual dexterity and/or inclination to sandblast & paint product.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of high school with a minimum of one to three years' experience working in an industrial/manufacturing sandblast/paint environment. Experience with an automotive background may be considered. Knowledge of industrial and/or automobile paint coatings is preferred.
  • A satisfactory combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered.
  • Experience in process improvement, problem solving, computer literacy, and ERP workflow.

Additional Details:

The Sandblasting / Painting Tech must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. The typical work environment will be in the shop or field which will require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, working near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.
