We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Director Human Resources with our corporate headquarters located in Dallas, TX.

This position is accountable for supporting all activities of the Human Resources Department for various facilities within OxyChem including: planning, staffing, salary administration, employee relations, communications, benefits administration, employee training & development programs, personnel administration, community/public relations, performance management, and medical.

HR Director Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Corporate HR resource to HR managers, Plant Managers, and Directors.
  • Provide overall direction to the human resource relations function for assigned manufacturing sites, to lead change, shape the HR vision and provide the resources that will measure progress and ensure success.
  • Develop and implement human resource policies, practices, procedures and initiatives that are aligned with the business strategy, objectives and values of the organization while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop strategies and implementation plans that will enhance a positive employee relations climate at assigned union free sites.
  • Provide support and reinforce all human resource programs that improve productivity to enable OxyChem to compete on a global basis.
  • Partner with manufacturing management to facilitate the design of their organizational structure and define their succession planning needs.
  • Ensure that OxyChem's EEO policies, including all affirmative action activities at assigned manufacturing sites are followed in conjunction with staffing needs and diversity objectives.
  • Ensure that compensation programs are administered equitably across all assigned manufacturing facilities and business lines of the Corporation.
  • Direct the activities of internal support groups, i.e. compensation, training and diversity; as well as external consultants to assure that customer needs are met within the parameters defined by OCC policy.
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of human resource programs and procedures to site specific locations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Requires 12+ years of professional human resources experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills which will enable the candidate to establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization and with external representatives.
  • Working knowledge of employment regulations and practices, such as, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, Title VII, worker's compensation and unemployment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • HR experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
  • Experience in supervision preferred
