About the Role
As a Technical Program Manager - Intern, you will be responsible for supporting the program management team with organizing and executing product development tasks. You will work to support the program management team with cross-functional role planning, communicating, team building and executing a development plan to Harman and customer requirements.
What You Will Do
Support Program Management teams with audio system (system, speaker, and/or amplifier) programs, requiring both applications and international development engineering.
Support program management with Sales, Supplier Engineering, and Design Engineering to set system cost target. Meet system cost target.
Interact with all internal functions: design engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, marketing, and sales.
Identify program issues as early as possible and drive resolution at the team level. If resolutions requires management intervention, escalate to appropriate management personnel with proposed alternatives.
Help with audit task completion. Report major deviations from plan to appropriate management.
Perform and support inventory task.
Help with project report compiling and new process creation.
What You Need
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited institution having completed your Sophomore year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter before participation in the internship program, and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
Must have taken courses in, or closely related to, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders and executives
Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Must be self-motivated and can work both independently and effectively as part of a team
What Makes You Eligible
Be willing to work in an office in Novi, MI
Complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
Must provide own housing and transportation to/from work
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Be willing to travel up to 10% occasionally to customer locations
Must provide full work availability from May 20, 2024, through August 9, 2023, and be able to work 40 hours per week depending on workload
What is Nice to Have
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of coursework in marketing, design thinking or finance
Interest in Product Management
Interest in the audio or automotive industry
