We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the Manager Air, Regulatory & Projects position with a focus on Air at our corporate office in Dallas, TX.

This position is responsible for reviewing and evaluating new, proposed, or potential environmental regulations and select HES&S regulatory issues to determine facility and air permitting implications, develop compliance strategies, and coordinate/support the development of project-specific scopes to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Provide technical expertise to the organization in reviewing and evaluating new, proposed, or potential environmental and selected HES&S regulations to determine facility and air permitting implications, develop strategies for compliance, and coordinate/support the development of project-specific scopes and air permitting strategies to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical expertise to projects and facilities to negotiate air permit provisions, both new and modifications for existing and new facilities, with regulatory agencies to obtain timely and cost-effective results for large-scale environmental capital projects.
  • Participate on Industry association committees responsible for environmental and selected HES&S related issues. Assess the impact of proposed regulatory and legislative changes on our products or operations and prepare comments on behalf of the company to ensure company position is represented. Support Industry association and company advocacy efforts.
  • Identify and communicate potential facility and air permit impacts of new, proposed, or potential environmental and selected HES&S regulatory on existing and new business undertakings to management and facilities.
  • Initiate special projects to anticipate and/or respond to air-related regulatory issues, e.g., Ozone NAAQS, emission reduction credits, MACT Standards, modeling secondary particulate material formation, etc.
  • Provide technical expertise to management, facilities, and other Oxy divisions where an air-related issue is expected to have a significant impact.
  • Accept and manage other responsibilities and projects as assigned to support HES&S.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or chemical engineering
  • 10 - 15 years of overall experience in environmental air
  • A broad range of plant-level experience to provide guidance and direction to projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of both Federal and State air regulations
  • APE license is a plus.
  • Must be able to deal with ambiguity, requires strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to articulate complex regulations at all levels of management.
  • Ability to interface with corporate and plant-level HES&S and manufacturing management.
  • Must exhibit leadership qualities and possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
