What You'll Do
  • Formulate expediting policies
  • Prepare procedures for expediting and inspection
  • Evaluate quoted deliveries from recommended supplier(s)
  • Prepare expediting visit register for supplier facility site visits
  • Site visits of vendor facilities to check on build progress of procured equipment and materials
  • Expediting engineering information
  • Expediting of equipment and other procured materials to meet construction schedules
  • Co-ordinating inland freight and warehousing according to priorities and specifications
  • Obtain shipping documents and verify with construction schedule
  • Co-ordinate inspections of purchased material
  • Co-ordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) meetings
  • Monitor overall quality assurance program (internal and external)
  • Issue weekly delivery status reports
  • Additional project responsibilities, as needed
What You'll Need
  • 2+ years expediting experience preferred
  • Understanding of construction process and familiarity with materials and processes commonly used
  • Understand technical specifications of material and various equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Strong and persistent negotiation skills
  • Strong data analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Creative thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities
  • Working knowledge of construction schedules
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Ability to travel via air and car 50% of the time; but could go to 75% based on need
Your Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
