40Summary:
As the Metabolic and Bariatric Supervisor, RN, you will assist in the building of our Metabolic and Bariatric program. You will lead:
program development
case abstraction
managing the accreditation process
ensuring continuous compliance with MBSAQIP Standards
maintaining relevant pathways and protocols
patient education
monitoring outcomes data and collection
quality improvement initiatives
the education of relevant staff with a focus on metabolic and bariatric patient safety.
You will support the development of written protocols and education of nursing staff detailing the rapid communication and basic response to critical patient findings that are specifically required to minimize delays in the diagnosis and treatment of serious adverse events. As the Supervisor, you will also serve as the liaison between the facility and all metabolic and bariatric proceduralists at the center and any general surgeons providing call coverage. You will administrate the MBS Committee, and you will be required to attend the annual comprehensive review meeting, and a variety of other meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program required
1-2 years of experience supervising a specialty program, bariatrics preferred
Must demonstrate initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent program development and management skills
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas
Current BLS certification recognized by AHA required prior to employment and must complete PALS certification upon hir.
Must obtain certification in MBS Clinical Reviewer within 1 year
