Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for an Information Technology Manager, based in our Washington DC office.

    Mentoring, professional development and team building of direct IT staff reports.
  • Budgeting and Variance reporting. Assist Regional Head of IT in development of annual budget for local office. Review monthly expenses and GL postings.
  • Client engagement to ensure user satisfaction and problem resolution.
  • Define, publish, implement, and monitor performance standards for IS&T regarding user support.
  • Perform as Project Manager on specialty projects as directed by the Regional Head of IT.
  • Assume all or a part of the Regional Head of IT responsibilities in their absence or as directed by the Regional Head of IT.
  • Adhere and enforce all Firm's policy, IT policies and Risk Management.
  • Responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Orrick's client service standards and core values.
  • This position requires occasional travel, and the ability to adapt to flexible work hours, including responsiveness to e-mails, text, and phone calls outside of normal business hours and as necessary to meet the business requirements of the Firm.
  • Provide status updates on IT managers calls, regional IT calls and local team meetings.
Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise on-site IT staff in the performance of their duties. Directly supervise outside consultants/vendors as needed. Prioritize and fulfill, or supervise the priority and fulfillment of user requests. Emphasize with staff the importance of providing excellent user support. Evaluate the support structure to ensure the ability to provide rapid and successful response to user needs and/or system problems. Set goals and performance standards for your direct reports and frequently evaluate their progress. Promote open communication with all members of the office, including timekeepers, non-timekeepers and legal support staff.
  • Manage, and where necessary participate in the deployment, maintenance, support and upgrade of desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, software, operating systems and miscellaneous hardware,
  • Ongoing analysis of Service Desk reports to ensure highest level of end user support is consistently delivered. This will include, but is not limited to identifying and taking action on: training needs; hardware upgrade or replacement; and your direct reports' performance evaluation.
  • In collaboration with peers firm-wide, promote technical proficiency and cross training, and maintain the solution/knowledge database within the help desk application, to continually improve customer service provided to users by your direct reports.
  • Supervise the flow of support information between your direct reports, functional departments, vendors and mangers.
  • Ensure and be accountable to ensure IT accurately maintain all IT assets in the Asset Management system.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by the Regional Head of IT.
  • Responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Orrick's client service standards and core values.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university (or equivalent experience) and five or more year's progressive related work experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and exceptional customer service orientation with experience in working directly with clients and customers. Possess a strong sense of urgency in responding to user requests (verbal or electronically), problem solving and getting work done.
  • Experience in direct management of others including performance reviews, coaching and mentoring, and providing feedback.
  • Experience in budget/profit-loss statement management.
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure, IT security, computer hardware, Microsoft Windows Server, Office 365, Apple Mac OS/ iOS, Android, mobile device management and asset management.
  • An energetic self-starter with a team-oriented approach consistent with the firm's culture and core values

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $145,000 and $175,000.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
