A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT SURVEY PROJECT MANAGER

As an Assistant Survey Project Manager, you work under our project managers to provide exceptional guidance and leadership to the field crew, CAD technicians, and office personnel. Highly attentive and detail-oriented, you review project information to ensure that every job is logistically possible and legally compliant. Before we begin a project, you research and analyze preliminary documents and obtain access rights to the property. Using CAD and other related programs, you analyze survey data and calculate final data adjustments to determine the overall scope of the project. When necessary, you visit the field yourself to collect and analyze data.

After double- and triple-checking the data for accuracy, you verify and redline preliminary and final plans, sending them to the project manager for final approval. When plans are solidified, you help prepare cost estimates and proposals. Strategically, you plan and direct the work activities of the project's assigned personnel. You perform regular quality control checks to ensure every step of the project is completed fully and accurately. As the work progresses, you closely track budgets to ensure we meet all applicable deadlines and specifications. You help guide the project from beginning to completion, performing other duties as needed to ensure everything meets all regulations and expectations. At the end of the day, you take great pride in successfully leading your team and helping us produce high-quality results!


QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ASSISTANT SURVEY PROJECT MANAGER

  • Surveying experience
  • Project management experience
  • Proficiency with CAD
