Overview

Mesa Springs is a 72-bed behavioral hospital located in Fort Worth, Texas. The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient mental health and addiction treatment to adults, adolescents and their families. At Mesa Springs we are dedicated to Changing People's Lives.

Mesa Springs is looking for a Transportation Coordinator to join our team at our Arlington location! This full-time position has a set schedule of Monday to Friday with a split shift of 630AM to 1030AM & 2PM to 6PM. Full-time employees are eligible for PTO, Paid Holidays, 401K, Insurance Benefits & more.

As Transportation coordinator you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients from various locations and facilities to the Hospital campus and/or other designated locations. This position will maintain a daily log of mileage and gasoline usage and submit all gas receipts to the appropriate person(s). Responsible for cleaning the interior of the car on a regular basis, assuring the vehicle is presentable for the transport of patients. Position will also maintain mileage records for the purpose of scheduling routine maintenance. Responsible for ensuring that patients are supervised; safety is always maintained; and patients are treated with respect and dignity. The position will coordinate transportation route and travel for all sites and may take on additional duties for the transportation department.


Position Details

  • Coordinate transportation routes for all outpatient sites.
  • Assist with coverage within the transportation department as needed.
  • Identify and coordinate meeting spots for patients and family members.
  • Identify and evaluate routes that create efficiency in the transportation of patients.
  • Ensure the schedule and program is consistently delivered to the expectations of the facility.
  • Safeguard the dignity and respect of our patients and customers.
  • Employs appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as required and according to policy and procedure.
  • Shuttles patients to appropriate places that are approved by appropriate supervisor.
  • Protects patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
  • Uses only equipment trained to use and operates all equipment in a safe manner.
  • Reports all potential hot spots and safety concerns to supervisor/manager.
  • Reports all accidents and incidents observed on shift to manager immediately.
  • Monitors vehicle condition and records malfunctioning items or damage and submits to manager.
  • Must be able to learn and remember pick-up and destination points.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • License: Valid driver's license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance.
  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
  • At least one (1) year experience driving 8-12 passenger vans professionally preferred.

Experience:

  • Experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred. Minimum of two (3) years paid or volunteer professional driving experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a customer service position
  • High school degree or equivalent required.
